Program Description

Food & Beverage plays an important aspect in the overall hotel/management operations in the hospitality/tourism event management industry, one of the fastest world’s growing industries providing many employment opportunities.

F&B staff performs the following duties: Greet customers, escort them to their seats, and hand them menus / Answer customers’ questions about menu items and specials / Clean tables and dining areas / Set tables for new customers/ Replenish and stock service stations, cabinets, and tables / Serve food and drinks to customers from behind a counter. F&B staff is the front line of customer service in full-service restaurants, casual dining eateries, and other food service establishments. A courteous & good team of F&B staff help to improve the workflow and customer service.

There is a high demand for skilled personnel in this field as the industry is developing rapidly across the globe

Further Education

A student who passed the certification levels 2 and 3 can either proceed to

    • DKM (Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia) – Level 4 or
    • MQA Diploma in Hotel Management, Culinary Arts if they have passed in SPM with 1 credit
    • VTO (Vocational Training Officer) – the endorsing certificate to be a lecturer for a teaching career.

Note: The study loan repayment (around RM 100 plus per level) starts upon getting the job or from 6 months after the completion of studies of all levels. Provision for additional loan of RM 2,500 for buying laptop.
